About Us

JIRANIPLAST is a Tanzanian-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to reconstructive surgery across the country. We work closely with regional and district hospitals to ensure that life-changing surgical care reaches communities that need it the most, including those in rural and underserved areas. Through a combination of training, surgical care, medical support, and community engagement, we aim to make specialized healthcare accessible to everyone.

Our History

Founded in 2020, JIRANIPLAST began with a mission to bridge the gap in surgical services for Tanzanian communities. Over the years, we have expanded our programs, partnered with local hospitals, and trained medical professionals to provide high-quality reconstructive surgery. What started as a small initiative has grown into a nationwide effort to empower hospitals and communities, ensuring that reconstructive healthcare is no longer limited to urban centers.

To provide safe and accessible reconstructive surgical services for people in need through capacity building, awareness campaigns, surgical care, research and outreach programs

Safe and accessible reconstructive surgical services for all

What We Do?

Simple actions, lasting impact

Public Health Education

We believe that prevention and awareness are the first steps toward healthier communities through community workshops and outreach campaigns.

Training and Capacity Building

We support hands-on capacity building to local surgical teams,  anesthetists, nurses, physiotherapists, surgical residents, fellows and medical students

Surgical Camps

We provide specialized surgical care to those who need it most, especially in rural and low-income communities where services are scarce.

Research & Surveys

We conduct research and surveys to guide effective interventions in reconstructive surgical services.

Through surgical camps and outreach programs, we generate data that guides in planning and strengthening of the health system

Partnership & Collaboration

At JiraniPlast, we believe that sustainable impact is achieved through strong partnerships and meaningful collaboration. We recognize that no single organization can solve complex health and social challenges alone. That is why we intentionally work with government institutions, healthcare partners, hospitals, health facilities, academic institutions, civil society organizations, private sector companies, and community leaders to create integrated and people-centered surgical solutions.
